Nestled in the heart of Reading, PA, GIANT stands as your neighborhood grocery, beer, and wine destination—combining everyday convenience with specialty services that cater to both routine shopping trips and special occasions. Clean, Organized, and Inviting

A well-maintained store environment is at the forefront of the GIANT philosophy. Many customers praise our neat aisles and uncluttered displays, commenting that “this is my preferred store … neat and clean, no clutter.” We understand that a clean shopping environment isn’t just about appearances—it’s about comfort and accessibility. While there have been occasional reports of pallets blocking pathways, our store team actively addresses these concerns by repositioning stock and streamlining restocking schedules. The result? A shopping experience that feels welcoming and easy to navigate.

Fresh, Quality Products

At GIANT, product freshness isn’t an afterthought—it’s essential. Our produce department regularly delights shoppers with crisp fruits and vibrant vegetables; “produce is fresh” is a refrain you’ll hear time and again. The bakery showcases daily-baked breads and pastries, perfect for breakfast on the go or an afternoon treat. And for sushi aficionados, our in-store sushi bar is a shining star: “Fresh sushi on a Wednesday is the best thing they’ve got here! Try it! The chefs are friendly and love their craft.”
We acknowledge that, occasionally, items don’t meet our rigorous standards. Isolated reports of overcooked or spoiled items have spurred immediate quality checks and team retraining. Your trust is paramount, and we’re dedicated to ensuring that every loaf, vegetable, and sushi roll lives up to GIANT’s promise of quality.

One-Stop Beverage Destination

From a dedicated beer store section to a thoughtfully curated wine department, GIANT makes it effortless to find everything you need to complement a quiet dinner at home or a festive gathering with friends. Explore craft brews, classic lagers, and limited releases alongside a wine selection that spans everyday sips to fine vintages. Our knowledgeable associates love to share pairing tips—just ask! Whether you’re a casual taster or a seasoned collector, you’ll discover something to inspire your palate.

Specialty Services & On-Site Amenities

At GIANT Reading, going beyond groceries is part of our DNA.
• Starbucks Café: Grab a handcrafted latte or iced coffee to power your shopping trip. Customers frequently call it “fantastic” and appreciate the extra pause for relaxation.
• Wedding Floral Service: Planning a wedding or special event? Our floral manager, Ruth Ann, brings years of expertise to create custom arrangements that match your vision and budget. Reviewers rave, “I would recommend her to anyone in the area!”
• Delis & Hot Bars: From freshly sliced meats to hot entrées, our in-store delicatessen offers quick meals and catering options. While some shoppers have experienced longer than expected wait times, we’re continually refining our processes to serve you faster without compromising quality.

Service You Can Count On

Customer service is more than a department—it’s a commitment. Our front-line associates strike a balance between professionalism and warmth. Many guests share stories of being helped by “friendly and helpful” staff, while others have called out disengaged or rude experiences, especially at the deli counter. To bridge any gaps, GIANT invests in ongoing training and empowers team members to solve problems on the spot.
A shining example is Miss Joann, whose name pops up in review after review: “Miss Joann went above and beyond … Spectacular customer service 👌. She fixed it in minutes.” Whether it’s a membership card issue, app glitch, or rain check request, our goal is swift, effective resolutions that leave you smiling.

Value, Rewards, and Community Focus

We understand that pricing matters. GIANT’s loyalty program offers point rewards, fuel savings, and exclusive “yellow-tag” specials—customers often cite these deals as a top reason they return. At the same time, we recognize concerns about the price of certain staples, like eggs. That feedback drives our buyer teams to negotiate better costs and pass savings on to you. Your voices shape our promotions and help us maintain competitive pricing on the products you need most.
