GIANT

GIANT at 15100 Kutztown Road in Kutztown, PA operates as a full-service supermarket offering a wide range of grocery aisles, a bakery, deli (including fresh sushi), and self-checkout lanes. The store supports online shopping through Giant Direct and features a rewards program tied to weekly sales and gas points.

Store Cleanliness & Atmosphere (Positive)

Customers consistently highlight GIANT for its well-maintained aisles, clear signage and spacious layout. The clean environment and organized shelving contribute to an inviting shopping experience, making it easier to locate products and navigate the store.

Product Quality & Freshness (Mixed)

Fresh produce and bakery items often receive praise, with the “How Wheels” white cake with whipped icing noted for its taste and presentation. Morning-prepared sushi has also become a standout deli item. However, some shoppers report occasional issues with spoiled meats and expired products, signaling variability in the freshness of perishable goods.

Inventory Availability & Selection (Mixed)

Shoppers value the breadth of offerings across grocery, bakery and deli departments. The store carries specialty items and a range of national brands. That said, patrons following vegetarian or other specific diets sometimes encounter gaps, and pet supply sections can be limited in variety.

Staff Friendliness & Customer Service (Mixed)

Interactions at GIANT vary: many customers commend Crystal at Customer Service for resolving complex food-stamp card issues and credit Jayden at Self-Checkout for prompt, patient assistance. At the same time, inconsistent experiences arise, with occasional reports of discourteous or dismissive behavior from other staff members.

Checkout Experience & Technology (Negative)

Lengthy lines at traditional registers and a limited number of open lanes frustrate shoppers during peak hours. Self-checkout kiosks, while available, have been described as unreliable and prone to technical glitches, compounding wait times and detracting from an otherwise efficient visit.

Pricing, Value & Rewards (Positive)

GIANT’s competitive pricing, coupled with weekly in-store sales and digital coupons, earns positive feedback. The MyGiant rewards program allows customers to accumulate gas points, which many find adds significant value to their routine grocery expenses.

Online Ordering & Delivery (Mixed)

Giant Direct offers home delivery and curbside pickup, with several customers noting the convenience and professionalism of delivery drivers. Conversely, others experience order inaccuracies, missing items and occasional curt interactions with staff fulfilling online requests, indicating room for improvement in service consistency.
