Berks County Fairs & Festivals: The Local Calendar, Month by Month

TL;DR — the Berks County festival year:

  • Berks County runs 50+ fairs, festivals, carnivals, car shows, parades, markets, and holiday events across the calendar, from the Bockbier goat parade in April to Koziar's Christmas Village after Thanksgiving.
  • The three true fairs: The Berks County Fair (July), the Kutztown Fair (early August), and the Oley Valley Community Fair (September).
  • Most events are free to attend. Carnivals are typically free at the gate with ride tickets extra; admission is noted for every event below.
  • Every date was checked against the organizer's own announcements. Where an official date isn't posted yet, the entry says "(to confirm)" — check before you drive.
  • The Kutztown Folk Festival ended after its 2024 season; the new Eastern PA Homestead Festival now carries the tradition on the same fairgrounds each July.
  • There was no single complete list of Berks County events anywhere, so we built one. If we missed an event or got a date wrong, email hello@berksconnect.com and we'll fix it right away.

Ask a Berks County native what season it is and there's a fair chance you'll get a festival instead of a month: Bockbier season, carnival season, Hamburg-er weekend, the Oley Fair, Christmas Village. From April through December there is almost always a street closed, a fire company flipping funnel cakes, or a hillclimb echoing off Mount Penn somewhere in this county.

This page exists because the information was really difficult to gather. There is no single complete source for Berks County events — every calendar we checked was missing events the others had, and some of the best ones live only in an organizer's Facebook posts or a flyer taped to a diner door. We couldn't find the whole picture anywhere, so we built it.

Below is every fair, festival, carnival, car show, parade, market series, and holiday tradition we could confirm, month by month, with dates, locations, and what it costs to get in. Two standing promises come with it: if we missed an event, tell us and we'll add it. If we got anything wrong, tell us and we'll fix it right away. Either way: hello@berksconnect.com.

Frequently asked questions about Berks County festivals

What are the biggest festivals in Berks County? By crowd: the Taste of Hamburg-er Festival (organizers claim six-figure attendance for a one-day burger festival), the Kutztown Fair, the Oley Valley Community Fair, and Boscov's Berks Jazz Fest, which fills venues across the county for ten days each spring.

What happened to the Kutztown Folk Festival? America's oldest folklife festival ran its final edition in summer 2024; the board suspended operations that November after years of mounting losses. The tradition did not die with it: the Eastern PA Homestead Festival debuted in July 2026 on the same Kutztown Fairgrounds, built openly as an homage, with Pennsylvania Dutch craftsmen, music, and food. The Kutztown Fair (the August agricultural fair) is a separate event and continues as always.

Are Berks County festivals free? Mostly. Street festivals and community days are typically free to attend; fire-company carnivals are free at the gate with rides and food extra; the agricultural fairs and beer festivals are usually ticketed. Every entry above notes admission.

How do I get an event added to this calendar? Email us at hello@berksconnect.com with the official details. If the event belongs to your business, you can also post it free from your business page and it appears on BerksConnect alongside your listing.

I want a vendor booth or a sponsorship. Where do I start? Every festival above publishes a vendor application in some form, and booth fees at Berks street festivals typically run low three figures. For the full picture of what festival sponsorship buys compared with every other way to advertise here, see our guide to advertising in Berks County.

Dates are confirmed against each organizer's own announcements as of August 2026; "(to confirm)" means the official date wasn't posted yet when we checked. Each entry shows the event's next occurrence: 2026 dates for the months still ahead, and 2027 (with the 2026 date for reference) for events that have already run this year. We refresh this calendar as organizers publish, and corrections are always welcome: hello@berksconnect.com.
