Overview

East Penn Manufacturing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Label Room Clerk to join our Distribution Center (Topton) team on 3rd Shift . This position is responsible for maintaining label inventory, printing and preparing labels for production orders, verifying system information, and ensuring labels are accurately distributed to support finish line operations. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, basic computer knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Record and maintain inventory of labels and other materials used in the Label Room.

Coordinate the movement of labels between Automotive and Distribution plants as needed.

Maintain labels in a systematic and organized manner within the Label Room.

Prepare and prioritize labels required by finish line operations.

Print required information on designated labels using thermal printers.

Utilize the DCCS computer system to verify label information and printing requirements.

Ensure DCCS information matches thermal printer information and report any discrepancies to management.

Use the DCCS system to mark labels as ready for production orders.

Return unused labels from finish lines to the appropriate storage locations.

Submit daily "Mark Labels Ready" reports documenting completed work.

Run order prints as necessary while verifying available inventory.

Troubleshoot minor printer issues and perform routine printer cleaning and maintenance.

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Produce high-quality work while meeting departmental standards.

Maintain regular attendance.

Work mandatory overtime as required.

Follow all safety, housekeeping, and hygiene procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

These duties are considered essential functions of the position.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Reading Requirements

Basic reading skills.

Mathematical Skills

Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Computer Skills

Ability to interact with computer systems and screens.

Experience working with computerized inventory, manufacturing, or production systems preferred.

Experience with LabelView software, Mainframe, and Glovia systems is beneficial but not required.

Ability to learn company software and internal systems.

Reasoning Skills

Ability to evaluate information and identify discrepancies.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to communicate potential solutions and concerns effectively.

Communication Skills

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with production personnel, supervisors, and team members.

Other Necessary Skills & Requirements

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

Ability to troubleshoot minor printer issues.

Comfortable using hand tools such as scissors and X-Acto knives.

Ability to perform routine printer cleaning and maintenance.

Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holiday coverage as business needs require.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
