Overview

East Penn is growing, and we're looking for a Logistics & Supply Chain Analyst who is ready to make an impact. This is a high‑visibility role built for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, digging into data, and driving meaningful improvements across a large, dynamic supply chain network.

In this position, you'll support our Transportation and Distribution teams while working cross‑functionally to strengthen performance across the entire Logistics & Supply Chain organization.

The role reports directly to the Vice President , giving you exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence strategic decisions.

You'll play a key role in improving safety, quality, service, productivity, and cost performance throughout our operations, directly supporting decision‑making, process improvement, and long‑term strategy.

Responsibilities

Analysis (50%)

Identify and prioritize business pain points by conducting stakeholder interviews, process and performance evaluations

Build business cases (incl ROI & IRR) with process owners

Facilitate problem solving events and improvement projects

Define data, analytical & reporting requirements and perform on-going collection, cleansing, manipulation and validation of data to drive exception management (issue / trend identification, root cause investigation / problem resolution, event management / alerts)

Provide analytical support for new business opportunities/proposals and supply chain projects

Perform modeling, constraint-based optimization and what-if analysis to support network, transportation & inventory strategy planning and execution auditing

Capture as-is & future process states using flow charts, swim lane diagrams & other visual mapping tools

Performance Mgt (30%)

Design and publish supply chain performance metrics, including scorecards & dashboards, as needed (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly)

Help identify, investigate & recommend corrective action to service failures, process issues & other recurring problems

Work with functional leaders to summarize observations, conclusions, and recommendations for improvement

Develop cost-to-serve measurement capability in partnership with Accounting

Implement strategic account performance measurement process

Support daily/weekly performance reviews and planning meetings as needed

Help departments/functions define & measure what good/great look like

Project Coordination (20%)

Support team members in executing tasks as needed to meet project deliverables

Ensure successful transition/hand-off to process owners & functional leaders

Assist in all projects on an on-going basis, playing a variety of roles as needed

Develops and tests theories regarding relationships between variables to help build predictive models and reinforce connections between various factors within supply chain

Display a willingness to help others analyze and solve problems

Helps teach employees and colleagues problem-solving methods to build competency within the department

Systems aptitude

Advanced MS Excel (v2007 or higher) - If/Then statements, VLookups, Pivot Tables, Array formulas

Working with very large amounts of data from multiple sources

Data mining & reporting tools (such as Crystal Reports)

MS Project, PowerPoint and Word

Demonstrated proficiency in the following areas:

Value stream mapping

Cross-functional flow charting

Ability to work independently and with teams

Communication:

Ability to present complex ideas simply and clearly to all levels

Ability to quickly and accurately assess individuals' interests and needs and tailor communication approach appropriately

Experience

4+ years business experience, with at least 2 years in an analytical role

Mfg &/or distribution environment preferred

Working knowledge of supply chain planning & execution systems (WMS, YMS, TMS, MRP, DRP, network/inventory/routing design) preferred

Education

Bachelors degree (logistics, supply chain, accounting or IT systems major preferred)
