Overview
The Manufacturing Support Analyst II analyzes data from a variety of sources to identify, prioritize, and implement improvement opportunities that drive quality, productivity, and business performance. The Manufacturing Support Analyst II leads cross-functional improvement initiatives through the application of Lean, Six Sigma, problem-solving, experimental design, experimental mathematics, project management, and change management methodologies. The Manufacturing Analyst II serves as a resource, coach, and mentor, and trainer to Project Leaders, Stakeholders, and Process Owners and supports organizational capability development through the delivery of continuous improvement training workshops and targeted instruction.
Responsibilities
Researches, analyzes and consults on moderate to complex business performance data.
Leverages skills from Quality, Lean, Six Sigma, problem solving, auditing, quality engineering, and data analytics to develop tailored solutions to match business unit needs.
Identifies, documents, and delivers findings that can support process improvements, performance and/or customer experience improvements.
Communicates recommendations, along with supporting research/analysis, about process improvements that reduce workloads and/or improve quality.
Assists with or designs future state operating models that address opportunities uncovered during current state analysis.
Acts as a resource to all levels of the organization on identified improvements that affect Corporate, Divisional, or Departmental initiatives ensuring that focus and solutions meet business needs.
Serves as Project Lead, Coach and Mentor to support cross-functional project teams.
Leads moderate to complex cross-functional improvement projects from opportunity identification through implementation, validation, and sustainment.
Provides prompt updates to Stakeholders regarding relevant information from other areas across the organization.
Responds to inquiries and needs from other business units and divisions.
Maintains accessible knowledge on current and emerging best practices and trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate contemporary trends and developments in current and future solutions.
Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management initiatives within assigned areasof responsibility.
Develops and delivers training programs focused on Lean Six Sigma, structured problem solving, process improvement, data analysis, training improvement, and Quality/CI methodologies.
Create training materials, job aids, and workshop content that supports capability development and knowledge transfer.
Facilitates improvement workshops and learning sessions to build organizational problem-solving capability.
Supports the Internal Audit process and other quality systems initiatives.
Perform other duties as required by quality management.
Work Sched ule
Core working hours Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; however, must be available to work at varied times as required to accomplish the goals and deliverables of their exempt position.
Occasional travel (up to 15%); including various locations within East Penn's complex to conduct/attend meetings .
Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications
5+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment; or 3 to 5 years of East Penn work experience that includes extensive knowledge of EPM procedures and practices.
1-2 years of experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies
Preferred:
3+ years of applied and proven experience in advanced Continuous Improvement methodologies
Education/Certification
Bachelor's degree or higher in business, engineering, scientific, statistics, or mathematics discipline, preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.
Working knowledge of advanced Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
Black Belt certification with desire to achieve Master Black Belt certification.
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional improvement or optimization projects.
Preferred:
Project Management Professional certification
Master Black Belt certification
Lean Master Certification
Experience developing and delivering technical or continuous improvement training.
Skills & Competencies
Required:
Basic and advanced u nderstanding and knowledge of OEE, FMEA, SPC, Capability Analysis, MSA, Lean tools, Six Sigma tools and other problem-solving methodologies and best practices
Ability to communicate complex concepts and analytical findings in a practical and understandable manner.
Ability to develop and deliver training to diverse audiences including frontline employees, supervisors, engineers, and functional leaders.
Advanced knowledge of project management best practices
Advanced written and verbal communication skills
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess issues and escalate appropriately for resolution.
Exceptional interpersonal skills; a team player with proven ability to work across functional areas and at all levels of the organization.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Self-motivated and self-directed; c an effectively cope with ambiguity.

Ability to multi-task and work with deadlines
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Office, Excel, Minitab
Strong ability to resolve conflicts, manage difficult situations, and show empathy.
Preferred:
Advanced knowledge of battery manufacturing processes
Advanced expertise in Excel (advanced formulas and pivot tables)
Proficient knowledge of Power BI or other visualization software.
Strong visual design skill.
Advanced level applied expertise of descriptive and inferential statistics
Advanced knowledge of statistical software packages
Advanced knowledge of process flow diagrams/value stream mapping
Advanced knowledge and ability to apply Lean, Six Sigma, and/or other problem-solving methodologies.
