Job Summary
The EMS Supervisor, under the supervision of the EMS Operations Manager, is responsible for the pre-hospital care of patients requiring care as the result of illness/injury and is responsible for the direction of patient care.
The EMS Supervisor is responsible for oversight of the day to day operation of the EMS agency, and oversees the coordination, assessment, planning, implementation, reassessment, and evaluation of the patient care provided in the department by employees.
The EMS Supervisor assists the EMS Operations Manager in supervision of the transport teams to ensure quality care and satisfaction of the patient throughout the hospitalization and inter-facility transport process.
Responsible for compliance with standards of the PA Bureau of EMS and EMS Act for all levels of prehospital providers employed for and acting on the behalf of the transport service.
Uses established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the delivery of patient care during their assigned shift.
Uses independent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of patient care and appropriate use of available resources.

Education Requirements
2 year/Associate Degree - OR - combination of relevant education & experience may be considered in lieu of Associate Degree
Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role.

BLS Certification
ACLS Certification
PALS Certification
PA Paramedic or higher EMS Certification
Emergency Medical Services Vehicle Operator Certification
National Incident Management System (NIMS) 700, 800, 100 & 200 training
Hazmat Awareness or higher Training
Current Valid Driver's License
Obtain unrestricted Medical Command authorization to practice within 90 days of hire and maintain unrestricted Medical Command authorization to practice while employed.
