Pottstown FARM, formally the Pottstown Farm & Artisan Regional Market, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit open-air market held at Smith Family Plaza, 100 E High St, in downtown Pottstown, Pennsylvania. The market operates every other Saturday from May through October, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, bringing together regional farmers, specialty food producers, and artisans in the center of the borough's business district. The market's stated mission has two parts: connecting the Pottstown region with fresh, locally grown agricultural products and handmade goods, and improving food access for underserved residents. Pottstown is recognized as a local food desert, and much of the market's programming is built around lowering the cost barrier to fresh produce for children, seniors, and households using SNAP benefits.
Pottstown FARM was established in 2015, growing out of a conversation between a local grower and the borough's Main Street Manager. The 2026 season marks its eleventh year, with opening day scheduled for May 16th. Programming for that opening day includes The Party Animal Express, The Community Arts Puppeteers, the market mascot Nugget, and live music by David Antonio.
The organization is governed by an all-female board and staffed by a Market Director and two employees known as FARMhands. Because FARM is a nonprofit rather than a municipal or for-profit market, its operations and community programs are funded entirely through grants, sponsorships, fundraisers, and donations.
Vendor offerings fall into three broad categories:
Pop-up vendors appear on select dates, so the roster changes across the season. The market also distributes a free collection of Healthy FARM Recipes, seasonal recipe cards organized by fall, summer, soup days, and any season, with dishes such as apple beet and carrot salad, kohlrabi slaw, broccoli cheddar soup, and granola snack bars. The cards are intended to help shoppers make use of less familiar market ingredients.
Several programs distinguish Pottstown FARM from a conventional market, all of them funded by the organization's fundraising rather than vendor fees alone.
The market schedule includes several events beyond its regular Saturday mornings. Christmas in July is an evening market held July 25th from 5 PM to 8 PM. Halloween Fun at the FARM takes place October 17th in conjunction with the downtown Haunts on High event. FARM also holds fundraisers at The Alley Bar & Grill on High Street, running from 3 PM to 10 PM and featuring raffle baskets and 50/50 drawings. Musical performers and family-friendly entertainers are booked throughout the spring, summer, and early fall season, and the market accepts inquiries from entertainers interested in performing.
Vendor applications are accepted on a rolling basis with prorated fees for those joining mid-season. Applications are reviewed by a board member or the Market Director, and the process may include an on-site farm or production visit followed by an onboarding Zoom call. Food vendors are required to add Pottstown FARM as a named insured on their general liability policy. Producers who cannot commit to a full season may request pop-up vendor dates.

The volunteer program invites community members to serve as volunteer farmhands, helping staff the information table and assist vendors.
Smith Family Plaza sits at 100 E High St in Pottstown's downtown core, within walking distance of High Street businesses. Free parking is available at the Magistrate Parking Lot next to the train station, and handicapped parking spaces are located on High Street. Because the market runs on an every-other-Saturday schedule rather than weekly, visitors are advised to check the published season calendar before making the trip. Market hours are 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with the exception of the July evening market.
