If your business is listed on Berks Connect, you can claim it to take control of your profile, update your information, and unlock additional features. Claiming your listing is free and helps ensure customers see accurate, up-to-date information about your business.

How the Claim Process Works
Step 1: Find Your Business
Search for your business on Berks Connect using the search bar or browse by category and location. If your business is already in our directory, you'll see a "Claim this business" option on your listing page.
If your business isn't listed yet, you can submit a new listing instead.
Step 2: Create an Account or Sign In
To claim your business, you'll need a Berks Connect account. If you don't have one, you can create a free account using your email address. If you already have an account, simply sign in.
Step 3: Submit Your Claim
Click "Claim this business" and provide the required information. You'll need to confirm that you are the owner or an authorized representative of the business. We'll ask for:
- Your name and role at the business
- Your contact information
- Confirmation that you're authorized to manage this listing
Step 4: Verification
We verify business claims to protect businesses from unauthorized access. Verification methods may include:
- Email verification: We may send a verification email to an email address publicly associated with the business (such as from the business website).
- Phone verification: We may call the business phone number on file to verify your claim.
- Document verification: In some cases, we may request documentation proving your connection to the business, such as a business license, utility bill, or official correspondence.
- Website verification: We may ask you to add a small code snippet or file to your business website to verify ownership.
The specific verification method depends on the information available for your business. We try to make verification as quick and easy as possible while still protecting businesses from unauthorized claims.
Step 5: Claim Approved
Once your claim is verified, you'll receive confirmation and immediate access to manage your business listing. You can then:
- Update your business information
- Add or change photos
- Write your own business description
- Add services, products, and specialties
- Update hours of operation (including holiday hours)
- View listing analytics
- Explore premium upgrade options
How Long Does Verification Take?
Most claims are verified within 1-3 business days. Simple verifications (like email or phone) can be instant. Claims requiring document review may take longer. We'll keep you updated on the status of your claim.
What You Can Do With a Claimed Listing
Free Features (All Claimed Listings)
- Edit business information: Keep your name, address, phone, website, and hours accurate
- Custom description: Replace auto-generated descriptions with your own authentic voice
- Photos: Add photos of your business, products, or services
- Categories: Ensure you're listed in the right categories
- Verified badge: Display a badge showing customers your listing is owner-verified
- Basic analytics: See how many people view your listing
Premium Features (Paid Upgrades)
Claimed businesses can upgrade to premium tiers for additional benefits:
- Priority placement in search results and category pages
- Featured listing badges
- More photos and media
- Deals and promotions
- Enhanced analytics
- And more
Premium upgrades are optional. Your free claimed listing will always remain active with full basic features.
Who Can Claim a Business?
Only the following individuals are authorized to claim a business listing:
- Business owners: Sole proprietors, partners, or shareholders with authority to represent the business
- Authorized employees: Managers or employees with explicit authorization from the owner to manage online listings
- Authorized agents: Marketing agencies or consultants with written authorization from the business owner
Claiming a business you don't represent is a violation of our Terms and Conditions and may result in account suspension.
Disputing a Claim
If someone else has claimed your business or you believe a claim was made fraudulently, please contact us immediately:

We take unauthorized claims seriously. Please provide:
- The name and address of the business
- Your relationship to the business
- Documentation proving your authority (business license, incorporation documents, etc.)
- Any information about the unauthorized claim
We will investigate and resolve claim disputes as quickly as possible, typically within 5-10 business days.
Transferring Ownership
If your business has been sold or you need to transfer listing management to someone else:

- Provide verification of the ownership change
- We'll work with both parties to transfer the listing
Do not share your account credentials with the new owner. Proper transfer ensures a clean handoff and maintains listing integrity.
Removing Your Listing
If you've claimed your business and wish to remove the listing entirely from Berks Connect, you can request removal by contacting us. Please note:
- Basic business information from public sources may still appear even after removal
- We will consider removal requests on a case-by-case basis
- Removal is typically processed within 5-10 business days
