Strategies for Personal Success, also known as Leadership II, is a 16 hour course from the Berks County Fire Training Center for people who lead fire service organizations. Running a career, combination or volunteer organization takes leaders, and many line and administrative officers are strong on the technical side but want practice in the managerial strategies that help them lead well.
The course is aimed at company-level junior line officers such as lieutenants and captains who want to build basic leadership skills. Topics include managing multiple roles, creativity, building a personal power base and ethics. It may also suit administrative officers of volunteer organizations, including presidents, secretaries and treasurers, whose duties call for similar leadership and management skills.
Students must be at least 16 years old and must have completed Leadership I. Classes meet at the Berks County Fire Training Site on Morgantown Road in Reading. Sign up through the course page on the fire training center website.
