Atonement Christian Preschool

Welcome to Atonement Christian Preschool, a nurturing haven for early childhood education located in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1976 and sponsored by Atonement Lutheran Church, our preschool is dedicated to providing a developmentally appropriate educational experience steeped in Christian values. We believe that a solid foundation in spiritual, social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development is essential for fostering lifelong success in children. At Atonement Christian Preschool, we create a warm and loving atmosphere that helps children thrive and encourages them to explore their world.

Our Offerings

At Atonement Christian Preschool, we offer a comprehensive curriculum designed to support the holistic development of each child. Our key focus areas include:

Spiritual Development

We instill an awareness of God's love and the beauty of His creation. Daily activities include simple prayers and a monthly Chapel Service that features engaging Bible stories, prayers, and uplifting songs. Our goal is to help children appreciate the spiritual aspects of life, nurturing their faith and values from an early age.

Social-Emotional Development

Understanding and interacting with peers is vital for every child's growth. We create an environment where children can express their individuality while learning to navigate social situations. Our programs emphasize empathy, self-awareness, and positive interactions, fostering emotional intelligence that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Cognitive Development

Curiosity is a natural part of childhood, and we celebrate it by encouraging children's inquisitive minds. Our curriculum incorporates various planned activities that introduce concepts in science, math, social studies, and language. Through hands-on exploration and problem-solving exercises, children gain a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Language Skills

We recognize the importance of language development in early education. Our preschool provides numerous opportunities for children to express themselves through storytelling, music, and interactive activities. Our "letter of the week" program prepares children for kindergarten by promoting phonics, alphabet recognition, and rhyming, ensuring they develop essential literacy skills.

Physical Development

Physical activity is paramount for young children's growth. At Atonement Christian Preschool, we provide daily opportunities for gross motor skills development through games and outdoor play, including running, jumping, and climbing. Additionally, our focus on fine motor skills through puzzles, art projects, and hands-on activities helps enhance coordination and dexterity, allowing children to progress in their physical abilities.
