About Calm Wellness Center

Overview

Calm Wellness Center is a holistic healthcare practice located at 1057 Van Reed Road in Reading, Pennsylvania. The center operates within the integrative medicine field, offering an approach to patient care that emphasizes whole-person health assessment rather than isolated symptom treatment. The practice appears to have a particular focus on pediatric wellness, serving families seeking alternatives or complements to conventional medical care.

Practice Philosophy and Approach

The wellness center operates on principles common to integrative and functional medicine practices, where practitioners evaluate patients through a comprehensive lens that includes lifestyle factors, nutritional habits, daily routines, and overall wellness patterns. This methodology differs from the more compartmentalized approach often found in conventional medical settings, where time constraints may limit the depth of patient consultations.

Practitioners at Calm Wellness Center incorporate natural remedies and supplements into their treatment protocols. The practice maintains an openness to homeopathic approaches and works collaboratively with families who already utilize such methods in their healthcare routines. This flexibility allows the center to serve patients with varying philosophies about medical intervention and natural health support.

The consultation style at the practice emphasizes extended patient interaction time, allowing for detailed discussion of health histories, current concerns, and contributing factors that may influence a patient's condition. This thorough intake process enables practitioners to develop individualized wellness plans rather than applying standardized treatment protocols.

Pediatric Services

A significant portion of the practice's work involves pediatric patients, particularly children experiencing chronic or recurring health issues. The center has developed expertise in addressing persistent childhood conditions that may not have responded adequately to conventional interventions. Common presentations include respiratory complaints, digestive discomfort, and other ongoing pediatric health challenges.

The practice environment has been designed with young patients in mind. The approach to pediatric care emphasizes creating a non-threatening atmosphere where children feel comfortable during examinations and consultations. This consideration extends to the interaction style used with young patients, aiming to reduce the anxiety that many children experience in medical settings.

Parents working with the center receive education about preventive health strategies for their children. This includes guidance on nutritional support, immune system strengthening techniques, and proactive measures for times of increased health risk such as travel or the return to school environments. The educational component allows families to implement supportive health practices at home between visits.

Practitioner Background

The center's primary practitioner, Kimberly, serves as the face of the practice and handles patient consultations. Her approach to patient care emphasizes active listening and validation of parental concerns, particularly in cases where families have felt dismissed or inadequately served by previous healthcare providers. This communication style has become a defining characteristic of the practice's patient experience.

Kimberly maintains knowledge across multiple wellness modalities, allowing her to draw from various treatment approaches depending on individual patient needs and family preferences. Her practice style avoids pressuring patients toward any particular treatment method, instead presenting options and respecting family decisions about their healthcare choices.

Services and Treatment Modalities

Calm Wellness Center offers consultations that assess patient health from multiple angles. The evaluation process typically includes review of current symptoms, health history, dietary patterns, sleep habits, activity levels, and environmental factors that may contribute to health concerns.

Treatment recommendations from the center often include:

  • Nutritional counseling and dietary modifications
  • Natural supplement protocols
  • Lifestyle adjustment recommendations
  • Homeopathic remedy suggestions
  • Preventive wellness strategies
  • Immune support guidance

The practice works with patients on both acute concerns and long-term wellness optimization. For children with chronic conditions, treatment plans may extend over multiple visits with adjustments made based on patient response and progress.

Patient Population

The center serves families throughout the Reading, Pennsylvania area and surrounding Berks County communities. Many patients arrive at the practice after experiencing frustration with conventional medical approaches that did not adequately address their concerns. Parents seeking more comprehensive evaluation of their children's health issues represent a core demographic for the practice.

Families already engaged with holistic health practices often find the center compatible with their existing healthcare philosophy. The practice's willingness to incorporate and support patient-initiated natural health approaches makes it accessible to those with established preferences for integrative care.

Location and Accessibility

The wellness center operates from its Van Reed Road location in Reading, positioned within Berks County in southeastern Pennsylvania. The Reading area, with a metropolitan population of several hundred thousand residents, provides a substantial patient base for specialty wellness services. The location along Van Reed Road offers accessibility from various parts of the greater Reading area.

Prospective patients can reach the center by phone at 610-285-8320 or through the practice website at calmwellnesscenter.com. The website provides additional information about services offered and the practice's approach to patient care.

Role in the Local Healthcare Landscape

Calm Wellness Center occupies a position in the Reading healthcare market that complements rather than replaces conventional medical services. The practice serves patients who seek additional perspectives on their health concerns or who prefer integrative approaches as their primary wellness strategy. Many families utilize the center alongside their established relationships with pediatricians and family physicians.

The integrative medicine field has grown substantially in recent decades as patient interest in holistic health approaches has increased. Practices like Calm Wellness Center address this demand by offering services that emphasize natural interventions, thorough patient assessment, and individualized treatment planning. For families in the Reading area seeking this type of healthcare experience, the center provides a local option for integrative pediatric and family wellness services.

Description

Calm Wellness Center is a pediatric functional medicine practice in Reading, Pennsylvania. We work with infants, children, and teens whose symptoms have gone on too long: chronic gut issues, eczema, ADHD, anxiety, PANS/PANDAS, recurring infections, fatigue, and other stubborn patterns that keep returning after the standard workups come back normal. Our job is to help you understand why your child feels the way they do, then build a clear, practical plan to do something about it.

The practice is led by Kimberly Baggio, MS, CPNP-PC, BC-FMP, a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner and functional medicine practitioner with more than 25 years of pediatric clinical experience. We are pediatric only, seeing children from birth through age 18, in person at our Reading clinic and by secure telehealth across Pennsylvania and New York.

What we do

Functional medicine looks for the reasons behind a child's symptoms instead of managing each symptom on its own. We take the full history: timeline, infections, diet, sleep, stress, home environment, prior labs, and everything your family has already tried. When testing can genuinely guide care, we use targeted functional labs, including GI Map stool testing and bloodwork for gut, immune, metabolic, food-sensitivity, mold, infection, and inflammation patterns. Then we turn the findings into a written, whole-child plan covering food, supplements when appropriate, sleep, nervous-system support, and the home environment, all in plain English that busy parents can follow.

We work alongside your pediatrician, not in place of them. Your child keeps their regular pediatric care, and we coordinate with other providers when written consent is in place.

Conditions we support

Families come to us for three broad groups of concerns:

  • Gut, food, and skin: chronic constipation, reflux, IBS-like patterns, food sensitivities, SIBO, eczema, and acne

  • Brain and behavior: ADHD, anxiety and OCD, autism spectrum support, headaches and migraines, chronic pain and fatigue

  • Immune and infection: PANS/PANDAS, Lyme disease and tick-borne illness, mold exposure, chronic and recurrent infections, frequent ear and sinus infections, asthma, and pediatric autoimmune concerns

If several things are happening at once, that is normal here. Layered, multi-system cases are the ones we work with most.

How care works

Every family starts with a free 15-minute consultation, a video or phone call to talk through what is happening and whether we are the right fit. There is no payment and no pressure. From there, care usually begins with a comprehensive initial intake of 60 to 75 minutes, followed by testing when appropriate, a dedicated lab review, and follow-up visits that adjust the plan as your child responds.

Our services include:

  • Free 15-minute fit consultations

  • Initial functional medicine intake visits

  • GI Reset, a 6-week mini package for chronic pediatric gut symptoms

  • 4-Month Concierge Package for complex, multi-system cases such as PANS/PANDAS, chronic Lyme, and mold exposure

  • Functional lab testing with individualized reports

  • Follow-up visits and lifestyle coaching

  • Healthy child wellness support for generally healthy kids

  • An ongoing membership for families who complete active care
