Dollar General

Dollar General at 226 E Penn Ave in Robesonia, PA is a local branch of a national discount retailer offering a variety of household goods, groceries, beauty products, cleaning supplies, seasonal décor and propane exchange. The store’s extended evening hours and weekend savings promotions cater to residents seeking quick, affordable shopping options beyond standard supermarket and big-box hours.

Service Quality (Positive)

Customers consistently highlight friendly, approachable staff who greet shoppers, answer questions and assist with locating items. Several reviews single out associate Bev for her exceptional attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond under pressure, ensuring a positive experience even during busy periods.

Pricing & Value (Positive)

Shoppers praise Dollar General’s everyday low prices, frequent clearance markdowns and interactive savings tools. Digital coupons loaded through the store’s app and a popular Saturday promotion offering $5 off a $25 purchase drive repeat visits, and many customers note they regularly compare deals here before choosing other local discount outlets.

Product Selection & Variety (Positive)

Despite a compact floor plan, the store maintains a curated assortment of pantry staples, snacks, health and beauty items, household cleaners and seasonal décor. Customers appreciate availability of both private-label essentials and select national brands, allowing them to cover basic needs without visiting a larger retailer.

Store Cleanliness & Organization (Positive)

Recent renovations have upgraded aisle signage, shelf labels and lighting, resulting in a cleaner, more organized shopping environment. Customers report clearer pathways, well-stocked shelves and fewer misplaced items, which contribute to faster shopping trips and reduced time spent searching for products.

Convenience & Accessibility (Positive)

Located within walking distance for many Robesonia residents and offering on-site propane tank exchanges, the store serves as a convenient stop for household needs. Extended late-night hours appeal to customers needing last-minute items, and nearby parking and accessible entrances facilitate quick in-and-out visits.

Checkout Efficiency & Wait Times (Mixed)

Many shoppers experience swift checkouts supported by proactive cashiers and self-checkout options. Occasional delays occur when staff manage multiple tasks—restocking, handling customer inquiries or propane exchanges—leading to mixed sentiments on overall speed during peak weekend or evening hours.

Store Size & Layout (Negative)

Some customers find the interior space cramped, noting narrow aisles and limited product-facing room, especially when the store is busy. The compact layout can cause congestion near high-traffic sections and registers, prompting shoppers who prioritize spacious browsing to visit larger retailers despite higher prices.
