Mountain Shadow Veterinary Hospital

Nestled in the heart of Schuylkill Haven, PA, Mountain Shadow Veterinary Hospital is more than just an animal hospital—it’s a place where pets and their people feel genuinely cared for from the moment they walk through the door. Whether you have a rambunctious puppy, a senior cat with special needs, or an exotic companion like a bearded dragon, our veterinarian team’s compassion, expertise, and personalized attention shine through every interaction.

Compassionate, Personable Staff

At Mountain Shadow Veterinary Hospital, we believe that kindness is the cornerstone of quality veterinary care. From the front office to the exam rooms, our team greets every client—two- and four-legged alike—with empathy and patience. “The staff is extremely nice and caring, and they treat you like a human,” one client raves, echoing countless others who’ve watched our team comfort a nervous dog or speak softly to an anxious rabbit.

Dr. Broshkevitch takes this commitment to compassion to heart-and-floor level—literally. Known affectionately as Dr. B, he kneels to a pet’s height so no animal feels intimidated. “He literally gets down on the floor to be at the level of his patients. He’s sincere & thorough,” says one delighted pet parent. This genuine approach builds trust, eases stress, and transforms every visit into a partnership between pet, owner, and veterinarian.

Expert Care, Thorough Communication

Pets can’t tell us what hurts, so our veterinarians rely on education, experience, and clear communication to diagnose and treat every condition. Whether it’s a routine wellness exam or managing a chronic heart issue, we tailor our approach to your companion’s unique needs. “Dr. Broshkevitch is outstanding in taking care of my cat with his heart problem… gives me a detailed report,” reports a grateful owner. Another adds, “The vet we saw was incredibly thorough with my dog—she took the time to explain everything and was careful not to recommend any unnecessary testing.”

Our expertise extends beyond dogs and cats. Owners of reptiles, birds, and small mammals feel at ease bringing in exotic pets, confident that we’ve studied the latest care recommendations. “Staff was very friendly, and the vet was very knowledgeable on geckos,” praises one review, while another notes follow-up instructions emailed for a healthy recovery after a bearded dragon checkup.

Convenient Scheduling & Emergency Flexibility

We know that emergencies and last-minute needs don’t always wait for business hours. That’s why Mountain Shadow Veterinary Hospital makes it super easy to schedule appointments—new or returning—often within hours. “They got my cat in within a few hours… had a potentially life-threatening emergency,” recalls a relieved pet owner. Whether you’re facing an urgent situation or just need a routine checkup, our online booking and friendly reception staff ensure that your pet’s care happens when you need it.

For particularly anxious or aggressive pets, we even offer car-side sedation before ever stepping into the clinic, minimizing stress and ensuring safe handling. One satisfied client shares, “They came out to my car to sedate her before even taking her inside… nowhere else has done this for us.”

A Clean, Calming Environment

From the moment you arrive, you’ll notice Mountain Shadow Veterinary Hospital’s bright, meticulously maintained facility. Calming wall colors, framed photography of local landscapes, and a warm reception area set the tone for a stress-free visit. Gourmet doggy cookies in the waiting room are just one thoughtful touch that helps pets (and owners) unwind. “The office is clean and well taken care of,” says one visitor, while another marvels at the relaxing décor and attention to detail.

Exceptional Value & Transparent Pricing

We understand that quality care is an investment. While our fees can be slightly higher than average, many clients emphasize that the exceptional service, positive atmosphere, and thorough outcomes make every dollar worthwhile. “They are a bit more pricey than other places, but the positive atmosphere and the quality of care is well worth it!” One reviewer notes, candidly, “The prices are a little steep and that’s the only reason I couldn’t give 5 stars.” With clear estimates, honest recommendations, and no surprise charges, we strive to make top-tier veterinary care accessible and transparent.

Beyond Veterinary Medicine: Grooming & More

Your pet’s health extends to every aspect of their wellbeing—including their coat. Alyssa, our talented groomer, transforms scruffy pups into picture-perfect companions. “Alyssa the groomer did an amazing job on my doodle!” one happy owner exclaims. From gentle brushing to full grooming sessions, we pamper your pet in a calm, safe environment.
