From Reading Roller Derby

In their own words.

Reading Roller Derby (RDG) is a nonprofit organization and member league of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), based in Reading, Pennsylvania. The league grew out of a love for the sport when Skateaway owner Holly Jester helped form a team in 2011, with home games soon drawing an average of 400 fans. Its mission is to provide an opportunity for women to challenge themselves physically through the sisterhood of roller derby while supporting the community. Home games are played at Skateaway, 2275 Lancaster Pike, Shillington, PA, typically on Sundays with doors at 6:30 PM and first whistle at 7:00 PM, and each bout features a local charity partner such as Special Olympics, Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks and ARL Berks County. The league also hosts the RDG Jam Fest with live music, vendors and roller derby demos, runs an annual new skater bootcamp with six weeks of on-skates training, recruits skating officials (referees) and non-skating officials, and offers sponsorship and advertising packages for local businesses. Merchandise is available through an online Bonfire store.
