Rhoads Energy & Rhoads Air - Boyertown Office

Rhoads Energy & Rhoads Air operates a Boyertown area office at 2314 Farmington Avenue in Boyertown, Pennsylvania, serving households and businesses in southeastern Berks County and the surrounding region. The location functions as both a fuel delivery hub and a heating and cooling service branch, combining home energy supply (heating oil and propane) with the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment. The office can be reached at +1 610-367-2356.

The Farmington Avenue address sits in the Berlinville section of Colebrookdale Township, just north of the Boyertown borough line, placing it within a short drive of Bechtelsville, Gilbertsville, Bally, Barto, New Berlinville, Douglassville and the rural corridors along Routes 100, 73 and 562. Longtime residents of the area may know the operation by its earlier local identity, Boyertown Oil, a name that still appears in customer conversation and that reflects the branch's roots as a community fuel dealer before it became part of the larger Rhoads organization.

Company Background

Rhoads Energy is a family owned Pennsylvania energy company headquartered in Lancaster with a history that traces back to the early twentieth century, when it began as a coal and ice business before shifting into heating oil, propane and motor fuels. Over the decades the company has grown through the acquisition of established regional fuel dealers, retaining their local crews and service territories rather than consolidating operations into a single distant depot. The Boyertown branch is one result of that approach: a neighborhood level office with drivers and technicians who know the back roads, the older housing stock and the equipment commonly found in Berks and Montgomery county homes.

Rhoads Air is the heating, ventilation and air conditioning arm of the business. Pairing a mechanical services division with a fuel delivery company allows a single provider to handle the fuel in the tank, the equipment that burns it and the ductwork or distribution system that carries the heat through the house.

Fuel Delivery Services

The Boyertown office supplies heating oil and propane to residential and commercial accounts throughout its delivery territory. Typical offerings from a full service dealer of this type include:

• Automatic heating oil delivery based on degree day tracking, so deliveries are scheduled according to weather and historical usage rather than customer phone calls
• Will call delivery for customers who prefer to order fuel on their own schedule
• Residential propane service for whole house heating, water heaters, cooking ranges, fireplaces, generators, pool heaters and outdoor appliances
• Propane tank setting, line installation, leak checks and system pressure testing
• Commercial and agricultural fuel supply, including off road and bulk delivery options
• Budget and price protection programs that spread annual fuel costs across monthly payments

Customers switching to propane or adding a new gas appliance generally work with a technician who sizes the tank, runs and tests the supply lines, and walks the homeowner through safe operation and tank monitoring before the system is put into service.

Heating and Cooling Work

On the mechanical side, the branch handles oil fired and gas fired heating systems as well as central cooling. Common work includes:

• Annual furnace and boiler cleanings and tune ups, including nozzle and filter changes, combustion testing and efficiency adjustments
• Diagnosis and repair of no heat calls, ignition failures, control and thermostat problems, circulator and pump issues and fuel delivery faults
• Replacement and installation of oil and propane furnaces, boilers, water heaters and indirect hot water tanks
• Central air conditioning service, refrigerant checks, condenser cleaning and system replacement
• Heat pump and ductless mini split installation and service for homes adding zoned comfort or supplemental heating
• Indoor air quality equipment such as humidifiers, filtration and ventilation improvements

A notable practical strength at this branch is comfort with older equipment. Much of the housing in the Boyertown and Bechtelsville area includes decades old oil boilers and furnaces, some with discontinued parts. Technicians working out of this office are accustomed to nursing legacy systems through another season when a homeowner is not ready to replace, as well as advising on when replacement makes more financial sense than continued repair.

Emergency and Seasonal Service

Heating emergencies in this part of Pennsylvania cluster in the coldest stretches of December through February, and the branch maintains emergency response for existing service customers during those periods, including nights, weekends and severe weather events. Homeowners who run out of fuel, lose ignition or experience a frozen or failed system can expect a dispatched technician rather than a next business day appointment. Scheduling for routine work, by contrast, is handled through the office staff during business hours, and customers are generally encouraged to book annual cleanings in late summer or early fall before the seasonal rush begins.

Service Plans and Accounts

Like most established fuel dealers, Rhoads offers service agreements that bundle an annual tune up with priority scheduling, discounted labor and coverage on specified parts. These plans are a significant part of how the Boyertown office operates, since they create ongoing relationships in which the same technicians return to the same homes year after year and build familiarity with each system's quirks and service history. Many area households request a specific technician by name for that reason, and the branch works to accommodate those preferences where routing allows.

Visiting the Office

The Farmington Avenue location has a wheelchair accessible entrance and a wheelchair accessible parking lot, so customers stopping in to make a payment, set up an account or discuss an equipment quote can do so without stairs or curb barriers. Parking is on site. Much of the day to day business, including scheduling, delivery setup, billing questions and budget plan enrollment, can also be handled by phone.

Practical Notes for New Customers

• New accounts typically begin with a tank and system inspection so the company can confirm the equipment meets current safety and delivery standards
• Homeowners buying a property with an existing oil or propane system should ask about transferring service and about the age and condition of the tank
• Keeping the fill pipe, vent and driveway clear of snow and ice helps drivers complete winter deliveries without a return trip
• Requests for equipment replacement quotes are handled with an in home evaluation, since sizing depends on the structure, insulation and existing distribution system

For area residents who want fuel supply and mechanical service from the same provider, the Boyertown office offers that combination through a local crew backed by a larger regional company.
