Plan the day
The State Theatre Center for the Arts is a 1,549-seat historic theater on Northampton Street in downtown Easton, PA. It books touring concerts, comedians, Broadway tours, ballet, tribute bands and holiday shows.
The house itself is the draw: a 1920s theater designed by William H. Lee of Philadelphia with frescoes and gilding by local Italian artisans, restored in 1990 and run as a nonprofit since 1981. The fall calendar runs from Lewis Black and The Music Man to a Cinderella ballet, Air Supply and A Christmas Carol, and more than a dozen downtown restaurants take part in a dining program with show-ticket discounts.
