Monday Wings, Wednesday Burgers, Thursday Cheesesteaks

Barrel & Ale runs three weekly specials: a wing special on Monday, a burger special on Wednesday, and a cheesesteak special on Thursday. All three are in house only, so they apply when you dine at the restaurant rather than taking food to go. No end date is stated for the specials.

Barrel & Ale is a bar and American restaurant on North Reading Avenue in Boyertown, set along historic Old Route 100 among the rolling foothills and old farms. The space has a roomy dining room and a large full bar.

Regulars talk about the wings, ordered crispy and tossed in honey BBQ, lemon pepper, garlic parmesan, or bee sting. The hand-patted burgers draw the same crowd, with the smokehouse burger layered in house-smoked cheddar and bacon. The giant pretzel, served with two dips, is the table starter families keep ordering.

The rest of the menu runs from a 12oz NY strip and seafood to German sausage specialties, a chicken parm sandwich, a pork sandwich, onion rings, and chips. Happy hour is Monday through Friday, 3 to 5 PM, with $1 off drinks and drafts except Busch Light. Bingo is Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM and music trivia is Thursday from 7 to 9 PM.

You will find them in Boyertown. The weekly specials are listed on their website and are good in house only, so plan to eat in the dining room or at the bar. Reservations are accepted, and large parties are asked to call in advance.
