About the event
Kutztown Day is the borough's summer gathering in Kutztown Park, a community celebration of the town itself that turns the grounds into one large shared picnic. The historic band shell anchors the day, with bands rotating through the stage while families settle in with blankets and lawn chairs and drift between the playground, the shaded pavilions, and the concession stand.
The mix has long included music of several kinds, from oldies and rock and roll to the polkas and waltzes of a German band, plus food vendors, games and crafts for children, community groups with tables on the grounds, a raffle drawing, and fireworks once the sky goes dark. It is an easy day to come to for an hour or to stay for from noon until the last note.
Admission is free. The celebration is set for August in Kutztown Park, with the exact date still to be confirmed, so watch for the Borough of Kutztown's schedule of performers and activities as the summer gets closer.
