Free Clothing Closet at Birdsboro Church of the Nazarene
Birdsboro Church of the Nazarene runs the Community Clothing Closet, which provides clothing free of charge to individuals and families in need. It is the church's largest in-house ministry, has been part of the church for many years, and serves communities in Berks County and beyond.
Each family can shop free of charge for one bag full of needed clothing items, and the church provides the bags. Items that are high in demand may be tagged with a number limit for what can be taken.
Shopping is only permitted on the official shopping days: 2nd Saturdays from 10am to noon and 4th Wednesdays from 5 to 7pm. The dates posted for September 2026 are Saturday, September 12th, 10am to noon, which has already passed, and Wednesday, September 23rd, 5 to 7pm. Shopping is not allowed on any other day unless the Director, Sherri Riegel, approves it. If you have a specific, urgent need, contact Sherri at (484) 529-5090.
The church is at 715 E. 3rd Street, Birdsboro, PA 19508. Do not park in the lot at the apartments next to the church. That lot is senior housing and the residents need their spaces open, and unauthorized cars will be towed. There is ample on-street parking if the church lot fills up.
