The Berks office is in the Reading State Office Building, 625 Cherry Street, Reading, PA 19602-1188. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Thursdays are different. All County Assistance Offices, the DHS Customer Service Center and the DHS Helpline have a delayed opening to the public of 1:00 p.m. on Thursdays. The public cannot enter offices and calls are not accepted before 1:00 p.m. on Thursdays because of staff training, and these delayed Thursday openings will continue for the foreseeable future. Other days of the week are not affected.
