Public & low-income housing in Berks County

Public housing and Section 8 vouchers come from two housing authorities, one for the City of Reading and one for the county, both with waiting lists that close for long stretches. Privately owned subsidized buildings rent below market to people who qualify by income, and some by age or disability.
