Free Interpreters and Language Help for Reading Hospital Patients
Reading Hospital provides interpreters and other language help, free of charge, to patients and families who do not speak English or who are deaf or hard of hearing. Spanish-language interpreters are on staff, American Sign Language interpretation is available, and the hospital uses the Language Services Associates (LSA) Phone Service for quick access to more than 150 languages.
If you or a loved one needs an in-person interpreter for a language other than Spanish, tell the hospital at least three business days before an appointment so the arrangements can be made.
To ask for language help, call 1-484-628-8005. If you use a TTY, call 1-800-654-5984; the Spanish TTY number is 1-844-308-9291. The page prints the same 1-484-628-8005 number alongside notices in Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Russian, Pennsylvania Dutch, Korean, Italian, Arabic, French, German, Gujarati, Polish, Haitian Creole, Cambodian and Portuguese. To ask for a copy of that information in Spanish, call 484-628-8005.
The address printed on the page is 420 S. Fifth Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611. The page does not say what hours the language assistance line is answered, so ask when you call. Tower Health states that it complies with applicable Federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex.
