Free legal aid in Berks County

MidPenn Legal Services is the free civil legal aid for people under its income line; the Public Defender represents anyone charged with a crime who cannot afford a lawyer; the Bar Association refers everyone else to a lawyer for a first meeting at a set fee. The court’s self-help forms and law library are open to all.
