Borrow a Wi-Fi Hotspot With a Berks County Library Card

Berks County Public Libraries lends portable Wi-Fi hotspots that cardholders can check out from select library locations and use to get online at home or away from home.

You need a Berks County Public Libraries card to borrow one. The libraries describe hotspots as a tool for job-seekers, students and anyone without Wi-Fi who needs online information, including people with no Internet access at home, people going on vacation, and people taking their business on the road.

A hotspot gives you unlimited, high-speed Internet service anywhere a signal can be received. The devices are portable and connect up to ten devices at a time, including desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

Most hotspots can be requested through the countywide catalog at berks.chilipac.com, but some must be requested by contacting the owning library directly. Each participating library may have different lending requirements and some may charge a nominal fee, so call ahead for more information and device availability. The page does not print a phone number, a loan period or the amount of any fee, so ask the library you plan to use.
