Assistant Group Supervisor

Part-time position assisting in the daily operations of the academic classroom at Stepping Stones Academy-Reading. Working under the guidance of the Owner and Group Supervisor, duties include implementing appropriate activities; supervising and coordinating the activities of classroom assistants, aides and volunteers; conducting duties in accordance with the academy's mission, employee handbook, and state regulations for Child Care Centers; reporting concerns about children, programming, and co-workers promptly to the Center Director; establishing and modeling classroom management skills and techniques; assisting in supervising classroom staff, ensuring policies are followed and providing feedback; ensuring the safety and well-being of all children through appropriate supervision and interaction; managing behaviors through positive guidance, re-direction and conflict resolution; meeting the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child; reporting on children's progress and sending pictures via the Brightwheel application; assisting the Group Supervisor and Director with activities related to ensuring and measuring outcomes for children, parents and staff; participating fully in academy activities including field trips, meal service and clean up; assisting children in the restroom including diaper changes and potty training; maintaining an orderly classroom, center and program areas by cleaning toys, sweeping, mopping, doing dishes and washing tables; providing
