In this basket weaving class at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, you build a round bowl shaped basket on a double slotted base, then add woven flowers around the outside. The finished piece works as a serving basket for rolls or bread, or as a spot to hold seasonal decorations. Instructor Susan Dirsa leads the class, and it is open to all skill levels, so you do not need previous weaving experience.
The class meets on Tuesdays from 10 AM to 1 PM for two sessions and takes place in the Textiles Studio, room 316, on the third floor of GoggleWorks at 201 Washington Street in Reading. It is open to ages 14 and up. Check the class page for any supplies you should bring, and note that written permission is required for students under 18 who enroll in an adult course.
