This class at GoggleWorks introduces the basics of making a short animated film. Working in the digital media lab, students move through the steps a cartoon takes, from first concept to animating, composing shots and editing. The instructor covers the software professional animators use, on computers set up for the work.
It is open to all skill levels, so you can come as a beginner or arrive with some animation experience already. The class meets on Fridays from 5 PM to 9 PM across two sessions. Please bring a USB drive with you.
Sessions are held at GoggleWorks, 201 Washington St in Reading, with classes meeting in different spaces on campus depending on the medium. Ask at the front desk if you are not sure where to go. Registration closes five business days before the start date, and GoggleWorks asks for written permission for students under 18 enrolled in an adult course.
