Carved Wooden Spoon
Starts Sat, Sep 26, 1:00 PM · Member: $89.25 / Non-Member: $105.00

About the workshop
In this one session workshop at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, you carve a wooden spoon or other cooking utensil using traditional hand tools. You learn how to orient your piece of wood for strength and easier carving, then work through a range of grips and techniques for removing material. Everyone leaves with a utensil of their own making.
The workshop is open to all skill levels, so it suits people picking up carving tools for the first time as well as those with carving experience. It is listed for adults. Closed-toe shoes are required. The class meets in the Woodworking Studio on the first floor.
Sessions run Saturdays from 1 PM to 5 PM at GoggleWorks, 201 Washington St in Reading, with a run listed for September 26. Register through the GoggleWorks class page. Registration closes five business days before the start date, and students under 18 enrolling in an adult course need written permission from GoggleWorks.
