In this class at GoggleWorks, adults design a fantasy creature of their own and then print it. The first part covers concept art basics, so you draw your creature and get it ready to become a print. From there you learn the basics of screen printing and pull prints of your design on paper and on fabric.
You can print onto clothes you want to upcycle, and you go home with several prints you can hang, use or wear. The class is open to all skill levels and is taught by Alex Crawford. Sessions meet in the Printmaking Studio, room 201, on the second floor of the GoggleWorks campus at 201 Washington Street in Reading. If you are unsure where to go, staff at the front desk can point you to the room.
The class meets on Tuesday evenings for five sessions. Register through the GoggleWorks class page. Registration closes five business days before the start date, and payment is due when you register. GoggleWorks asks for written permission for students under 18 enrolled in an adult course, and scholarship information is available on their site.
