About the workshop
This workshop introduces homeschooled students to the fundamentals of welding. Students learn how electricity melts wire and metal to join them permanently, and they get to know the proper tools, protective gear and workspace safety rules of the welding studio. Instructor David Jeremiah works directly with students so they can weld safely.
Each student builds a custom miniature metal sculpture and takes it home. The workshop is open to all skill levels, and parents are welcome to attend.
Flame-resistant clothing, long pants and heavy closed-toe shoes are required. The class meets on a Tuesday afternoon in the Welding Studio in Building 4 on the GoggleWorks campus in Reading. Register through the GoggleWorks class page.
