This class introduces metal casting, one of the core processes used in jewelry making. You work through the basics of mold making, preparing a casting, pouring metal, and finishing the piece. Demonstrations and guided practice show how cast jewelry and small metal objects come together from start to finish.
It is open to adults at all skill levels, so you do not need casting experience to take part. Sessions meet on Monday evenings at GoggleWorks in Reading, in the Metalsmithing Studio in Building 6. Closed toe shoes are required.
Registration is handled on the GoggleWorks class page, which also lists member and non member rates along with payment and refund policies. Registration closes five business days before the class begins, and scholarships are available through GoggleWorks.
