This beginner class at GoggleWorks covers the basics of painting with transparent watercolor and opaque gouache. Students practice core application techniques and work on mixing and using color, with some attention to mixed media approaches. It suits people picking up a brush for the first time and anyone who wants a refresher, and it is open to teens 14 and up as well as adults. The instructor is Zoungy Kligge.
The group meets Wednesdays from 6 to 9 PM for five sessions, held in the Drawing and Painting classroom on the third floor at 201 Washington Street in Reading. Shared art materials are provided in the studio for most classes. If you want your own brushes, paints or paper, the Art Supply Store on the first floor carries personal supplies.
Sign up through the class page on the GoggleWorks website. Registration closes five business days before the start date, and payment is due when you register. Students under 18 enrolling in an adult course need written permission, and GoggleWorks will email a form beforehand. Scholarship information is also available on their site.
