Introduction to Japanese Stab Binding: Session B
Starts Sat, Oct 3, 12:00 AM · Member: $63.75 / Non-Member: $75.00 · Ages 16 and up

About the workshop
This one day workshop at GoggleWorks introduces Japanese stab binding, a centuries old way of stitching books by hand. You assemble, fold, and sew your own handmade books using traditional decorative binding patterns, and you leave with the finished work you made in class.
It is open to all skill levels, so both first time bookmakers and people with binding experience can take part. The session is for teens age 16 and up and for adults, and is led by instructor Erica Hutchins. Class meets in the Printmaking Studio, room 201, on the second floor of GoggleWorks at 201 Washington Street in Reading.
The workshop runs as a single Saturday session on October 3. Sign up through the GoggleWorks class page listed with this program. Registration closes five business days before the start date, and students under 18 enrolled in an adult course need written permission from a parent or guardian, which GoggleWorks provides by email. Scholarships are available through GoggleWorks.
