October Ceramics Maker Date: Raku
Starts Fri, Oct 30, 6:00 PM · $96.00

About the workshop
This one evening raku workshop at GoggleWorks is built around clay and fire. You glaze a pair of pre-made bud vases, watch a wheel throwing demonstration, and then see your pieces fired in a raku kiln and pulled out red hot. The Japanese raku process cools work quickly, so you take your vases home the same night. A shared charcuterie spread and a draft beverage from Thorn Alley Kitchen are part of the evening.
It is open to adults at all skill levels, so no ceramics experience is needed. Many people come with a friend or partner, and each person attending needs their own registration. Wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty. The workshop meets in the Ceramics Studio in Building 3 at GoggleWorks, 201 Washington St in Reading, on Friday, October 30, from 6 to 8 PM.
Sign up through the class page on the GoggleWorks site. Registration closes five business days before the class starts. Optional add ons, including a dinner at Thorn Alley Kitchen before the workshop and a supervised kids drop off with dinner and a craft, can be selected at checkout while they remain available. GoggleWorks also offers scholarships, with details on their site.
