October Flameworking Maker Date
Starts Fri, Oct 30, 6:00 PM · $100.00

About the workshop
Spend a Friday evening at the torch with a partner. In this one session workshop at GoggleWorks, you and your date learn to use torches and hand tools to melt and shape glass, and you see how heat and gravity work together to form a small glass piece. It runs from 6 to 8 pm in the Flameworking Studio in Building 6, and it is open to all skill levels with Tanner Sweeney leading. The evening also includes a shared charcuterie spread from Chef Harley and your choice of draft beverage from Thorn Alley Kitchen.
Wear closed-toe shoes and natural fabrics such as cotton, and tie back long hair before you enter the studio. Tuition covers one person, so each person attending needs their own registration. Add-on options offered at checkout include a multi-course dinner at Thorn Alley Kitchen starting before the workshop, and a drop off session for children in a youth classroom with dinner and a craft. The drop off requires advance registration, and children must be potty trained.
The class meets at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington St in Reading. Registration closes five business days before the start date. Sign up through the GoggleWorks class page.
