About the workshop
This is a one evening Maker Date in the Metalsmithing Studio at GoggleWorks in Reading, built for two people who want to make something together. You and your plus one design and build a personalized set of sterling silver stacking rings while sharing a charcuterie spread and a draft beverage from Thorn Alley Kitchen.
Instructor Lukas Kohler guides the group through basic metalsmithing steps, including measuring, cutting, forming, soldering and finishing silver wire. It is open to all skill levels and friendly to first timers, and you take your ring stack home at the end of the session. Closed-toe shoes are required.
The session meets Friday, September 25, from 6 PM to 8 PM at 201 Washington Street, in Building 6. Tuition covers one person, so each attendee needs their own registration. Optional add-ons, such as a dinner at Thorn Alley Kitchen before class and a supervised drop off with dinner and a craft for your child, are listed on the registration page.
