Welding Basics: Session D
Starts Sat, Oct 24, 2:30 PM · Member: $68.00 / Non-Member: $80.00 · Ages 16 and up

About the workshop
This one session workshop at GoggleWorks introduces MIG welding. You learn how an electric arc forms between a wire electrode and metal and melts them together, then put that process to work. By the end of the afternoon, you take home a miniature metal sculpture you made yourself. The workshop is open to all skill levels, so no prior welding experience is needed. Brian Glaze is the instructor.
The session meets on a Saturday afternoon from 2:30 to 5 PM in the Welding Studio, Building 4, on the GoggleWorks campus at 201 Washington Street in Reading. It is open to ages 16 and up. Wear flame resistant clothing, long pants and heavy closed-toe shoes, all of which are required for the studio.
Sign up through the GoggleWorks class page. Registration closes five business days before the start date. Students under 18 enrolled in an adult course need written permission from a parent or guardian, and GoggleWorks provides that form by email. If you are unsure where to go when you arrive, staff at the front desk can point you to the studio.
