Afterschool STEAM Camp: Halloween Glow
Starts Fri, Oct 23, 4:00 PM · Free

About the camp
This not-so-spooky afterschool camp at Nolde Forest looks at bioluminescence, the science some animals use to light up the night. Students make glow in the dark crafts and learn what happens in the woods after dark. Like all camp programs here, the group starts with free play in the Chickadee Nature Area, takes a hike, and then heads back to the classroom for the activity.
The program runs both indoors and outdoors, so students should dress for time outside. They are encouraged to bring a snack and a drink. Parents may drop off registered children, and if you have other students outside the age range, you are welcome to take a forest hike with them while the camp meets. Severe weather can cancel the program, so watch your email for updates.
Registration is required for every participant and space is limited. Registration opens about a month before the program. After camp there is a separate eye shine family hike with staff from the library, which has its own registration.
