Iglesia Bautista Betania / Bethany Church

Iglesia Bautista Betania, also known as Bethany Church, is a vibrant non-denominational, Baptist, Christian, and Hispanic church nestled in the heart of Reading, PA. More than just a place of worship, we are a spiritual home where every attendee—whether a lifelong believer or a first-time visitor—finds a warm welcome and genuine community. Our mission is to exalt Christ through clear, uncompromising Bible-based teaching, uplifting worship, and heartfelt care for families and individuals alike.

A Foundation Rooted in Scripture and Biblical Preaching

At Bethany Church, the Bible stands at the center of everything we do. Attendees consistently praise our “Bible-based church with friendly and kind people,” where sermons are delivered without added commentary or omissions. Under the leadership of Pastor Tony, our preaching style is thoroughly expository—unpacking each verse, allowing Scripture to shine. As one congregant shared, “Pastor Tony preaching is expository—it’s so biblical,” and another added, “Thank you, Pastor Tony. I have learned so much in my time around you.” This commitment to God’s Word equips believers to apply biblical truths in their daily lives and deepens their relationship with Christ.

A Warm, Inclusive Congregation

Stepping into Bethany Church means encountering genuine Christian fellowship from the very first moment. Newcomers frequently note, “The whole congregation is so friendly and caring,” and many joyfully declare, “I have found a home at Bethany Baptist Church.” Whether through personal greetings, shared coffee after service, or small-group Bible studies, our members build authentic, lasting relationships. This culture of care ensures that everyone—families, singles, youth, and seniors—felt supported, valued, and encouraged in their faith journey.

Engaging Children’s Programs and Family Ministries

We believe the next generation deserves engaging, age-appropriate opportunities to learn about Jesus. That’s why Bethany Church offers dedicated children’s classes and a colorful playroom designed to keep toddlers and older kids happily occupied. Parents regularly praise these offerings: “They have classes for kids and a play room for toddlers—the kids love it!” Each lesson is crafted to bring biblical stories to life, with songs, crafts, and interactive activities that foster both fun and faith. Regular family events and seasonal celebrations further strengthen parent-child bonds and integrate families into our church community.

Worship That Inspires: Uplifting Atmosphere & Spanish-Language Inclusion

Our worship services at Bethany Church are designed to unite hearts in praise, prayer, and the proclamation of God’s Word. Visitors often describe the environment as “un verdadero lugar de adoración” and “un ambiente muy lindo,” highlighting the reverent yet joyful spirit that fills our sanctuary. Recognizing the diverse needs of our congregation, we provide Spanish-language teaching that is clear, doctrinally sound, and culturally relevant. As one Spanish-speaking attendee noted, “Si quieres aprender sobre la Biblia este es el mejor lugar—tiene buenas enseñanzas. Pastor Tony.” This bilingual approach ensures that no one feels left out of the life-changing message of the gospel.
