Established in 1947 by the Boroughs of West Reading and Wyomissing, the Joint Municipal Authority of Wyomissing Valley has over 75 years of experience in wastewater management. Our facility began construction in 1950 and was fully operational by 1953. Originally designed as a 2.0 million gallons per day Trickling Filter facility, the plant has undergone significant upgrades to enhance its capacity and efficiency. Key milestones in our history include the addition of activated sludge treatment in 1970 and the installation of additional secondary clarifiers in 1992. Today, we serve approximately 25,000 residents through around 8,000 connections, demonstrating our longstanding commitment to quality service.
