While occasional multi-hour waits can occur—often when inbound shipments arrive late or docks are congested—the team works diligently to clear clutter from prior shifts and communicate real-time updates.

Respect and Courtesy at Every Turn

A cornerstone of our culture is genuine respect for every person who walks through our gates. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted by attentive dock staff who treat drivers with the patience and courtesy they deserve. “They always treat drivers with respect and… Nice people here!!” captures the sentiment of many who appreciate a professional yet friendly atmosphere. Special shout-outs go to Rory, our dedicated dock supervisor, whose personal assistance and hospitality—especially for first-time visitors—have earned heartfelt thanks: “Rory is a good guy and helped me out my first time… I really appreciate your patience.”

Flexible Appointment Scheduling and Guaranteed Dock Access

Plan your day with confidence thanks to our call-ahead appointment system. Need to secure a dock before you hit the road? Simply give us a ring, and our shipping team will reserve your spot—often well ahead of your scheduled slot. One driver shared, “Call in ahead got a dock before I arrived,” while another celebrated an early check-in at 6:45 am for an 8 am appointment. This level of flexibility minimizes idle time, keeps deadlines on track, and demonstrates our commitment to working around your schedule.

Clear Communication and Proactive Updates

Effective logistics hinge on clear, timely information. Our brokerage team—anchored by Milin, Jennifer, and Amiee—earns consistent praise for transparent pricing, dependable load offers, and a willingness to keep you informed. “The team is a pleasure to work with… honest with pricing,” notes a long-time partner. While we strive for seamless communication, we recognize there’s room to perfect our updates during unexpected delays. When challenges arise—such as dock congestion or load shortages—our staff don’t hesitate to apologize and provide context, showing that your time matters to us.

Waiting can’t be all work and no comfort. At Landis Express / S & H Express, you’ll find clean restrooms, hot coffee available exclusively for truckers, and vending machines stocked with snacks to keep you energized. Whether you’re catching up on paperwork, sharing a quick break with fellow drivers, or simply stretching your legs, our facilities are designed with your well-being in mind. As one guest put it, “Bathroom access. Friendly service. Coffee available just for truckers.”
