Restoration Technical Institute

Nestled in the heart of Reading, PA, Restoration Technical Institute (RTI) is a premier school dedicated to delivering top-tier training in the restoration and remediation industry. As a specialized training center, RTI combines accredited IICRC coursework with real-world experience, ensuring every student gains the knowledge and confidence to excel. Whether you’re embarking on your first certification or looking to sharpen advanced skills, RTI’s engaging environment, expert instructors, and hands-on curriculum make it the go-to destination for restoration professionals seeking practical, impactful education.

Instructor Expertise

At the core of RTI’s success is its team of industry veterans, led by Destry, whose mastery of Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) techniques is unmatched. Students rave that “Destry is a master of AMRT and shares his experience in addition to the general IICRC class information,” underlining how his real-world insights elevate the standard classroom experience. From water damage protocols to microbial remediation strategies, RTI instructors don’t just teach theory—they share war stories, troubleshooting tips, and best practices honed over years in the field. Their engaging teaching styles and deep industry knowledge empower students to ask questions, tackle complex scenarios, and emerge fully prepared for certification and on-the-job success.

Hands-On Curriculum Structure

RTI understands that restoration is a hands-on trade, so every lesson is designed to reinforce theory with practical application. Attendees often highlight that “lecture combined with hands on is a perfect way to learn and grab all the information.” From setting up moisture meters in a mock-up home to practicing dry-out techniques on real flooring assemblies, each exercise has a clear, purposeful objective. This blend of classroom instruction and hands-on labs ensures concepts sink in and muscle memory forms, so students leave confident in their ability to tackle challenges in live job sites. As one graduate puts it, “I enjoyed the hands-on portion of the class best as you get to functionally apply what you have learned.”

State-of-the-Art Facility & Learning Environment

Modern, clean, and fully equipped, RTI’s training center sets a professional tone from the moment you walk through the door. Spacious classrooms with up-to-date AV equipment, dedicated lab bays for practical exercises, and comfortable breakout areas create an atmosphere conducive to learning and collaboration. “Top notch facility – I plan to attend other classes in the future,” says one attendee, capturing the sentiment of students who appreciate RTI’s investment in their success. The bright, climate-controlled workspace and organized supply stations remove distractions, allowing you to focus squarely on mastering restoration techniques.

On-Site Culinary Excellence

Few schools can claim the culinary distinction found at RTI. Under the guidance of Chef Dave, students enjoy complimentary, high-quality meals that fuel long days of study and lab work. “You will not go hungry at RTI!!! The food is good (a lot of the time they make it themselves),” raves a recent attendee. From hearty breakfast spreads to freshly prepared lunches and energizing snacks, the on-site catering keeps minds sharp and spirits high. This thoughtful perk not only saves time but fosters camaraderie as classmates gather over delicious meals, discuss lectures, and swap insights.

Staff Hospitality & Support

Beyond instructors, the non-teaching staff at RTI exemplify genuine hospitality. Whether you need assistance with registration, accommodation recommendations, or extra guidance between modules, Lisa, Ted, Chuck, Steve, and the entire support team are at your service. “Lisa and Ted were great hosts,” notes one grateful student, while another adds, “Chuck, Ted, Lisa, Steve, and of course Chef Dave were extremely knowledgeable and helpful.” Their friendly demeanors and prompt responsiveness create a welcoming environment, so you feel valued and supported throughout your training journey.

Organized for Success & Value

From the moment you register to the final exam debrief, RTI’s programs are meticulously structured. Clear schedules, defined learning objectives, and efficient transitions between lectures and labs make multi-day classes feel seamless. “RTI has a great system to make a 4-day class breeze by,” applauds one student. With transparent course outlines and practical take-home resources, you know exactly what to expect—and exactly what you’ll gain. Considering the depth of instruction, hands-on practice, and superior amenities, students consistently praise RTI’s exceptional return on investment: “The cost of the courses falls into place with what you learn.”

Learning Outcomes & Certification Success

RTI’s ultimate goal is your certification success and on-the-job excellence. Graduates leave not only armed with IICRC credentials but also brimming with confidence to deploy new skills immediately. One student celebrated, “I passed my exam with a flying 96.43%!
