Nestled in the heart of Reading, PA, St Mark’s Lutheran Church is more than just a place of worship—it’s a vibrant community built on faith, fellowship, and service. As a proud Lutheran church, our doors are open to individuals and families from every walk of life. Here, you’ll find an environment where ancient traditions and heartfelt worship converge, creating a spiritual home that inspires growth, love, and transformation.

Flexible Service Schedule

Understanding the demands of modern life, St Mark’s Lutheran Church offers multiple weekly service times to fit your busy schedule. Whether you’re a working professional, a student, or caring for little ones at home, you can choose a service that works best for you:

• Tuesday Evening Service at 7:00 pm
• Thursday Evening Service at 7:00 pm
• Sunday Afternoon Service beginning at 4:00 pm (“tenemos servicio los días martes y jueves y los domingos en la tarde, desde la 4:00 pm.”)

By providing these three distinct worship opportunities, we ensure that everyone has a chance to pause, reflect, and connect with God’s word—without the stress of fitting into a rigid schedule. Our congregants often share how this flexibility has helped them maintain a consistent spiritual rhythm, even during the busiest seasons of life.

A Warm, Confident Invitation

At St Mark’s, you’re not just a visitor—you’re family from the very first moment you walk through our doors. Our members and leadership team extend an enthusiastic welcome:
“Ven y visítanos y estoy muy seguro que te encantará.”
“Come and visit and I am very sure you will love it.”

This isn’t a rote greeting; it’s a heartfelt promise. We believe that when you join us for worship, Bible study, or fellowship events, you’ll experience genuine warmth, authentic relationships, and the peace that comes from encountering Christ’s love in community. Newcomers frequently comment on how this confident hospitality immediately puts them at ease and sparks a desire to return.

Our Clear Evangelical Mission

At the core of St Mark’s identity is our unwavering commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We boldly proclaim:
“Somos un cuerpo evangélico de Cristo resucitado.”
“We are an evangelical body of the resurrected Christ.”

This concise mission statement guides every sermon, outreach program, and community gathering we host. It reminds us that our purpose extends beyond the walls of the sanctuary: we exist to share the hope of the resurrection, nurture discipleship, and serve those in need. Whether it’s through prayer chains, charitable partnerships, or local neighborhood events, our evangelical focus is the engine that drives both our worship and witness.

Bilingual Communication for a Diverse Community

Reading, PA, is blessed with cultural and linguistic diversity, and St Mark’s reflects that richness by offering bilingual resources and services. From sermon translations to printed materials, we strive to ensure that both Spanish-speaking and English-speaking worshippers feel fully included. A sample from our community’s own words:
“(Translated by Google) … Yo soy miembro de la iglesia luz celestial…”
“(Original) … Ven y visítanos…”

By embracing bilingual communication, we break down language barriers and create space for everyone to engage, learn, and grow. It’s another way we live out the Great Commission—to make disciples of all nations—right here in our hometown.
