About the event
Birdsboro's Street Fair and Duck Derby fills Mainbird Park with a day built around Hay Creek and the people who live along it. Vendor stands line the park with crafts, small business tables, and displays from local groups and community organizations, and food trucks and live music round out the afternoon. Families can count on plenty aimed at kids, from games and hands on activities to the kind of wandering that makes a spring Saturday feel unhurried.
The duck derby gives the day its finish. Numbered rubber ducks go into Hay Creek and float toward the finish line while spectators gather along the banks to watch and cheer their entries along. Each duck matches a numbered ticket, so the race turns into a shared countdown for everyone standing on the water's edge.
The event is presented by the Boone Area Library, and proceeds from the derby support the library's work in the community. Mainbird Park sits at 226 N. Water Street, a short walk from the center of the borough.
