Tucked into the hills outside Bernville, Koziar's Christmas Village turns a quiet stretch of Berks County farmland into a valley of light. The approach is part of the experience: you come over the last rise on a dark country road and the whole property appears at once, with more than a million lights outlining buildings, barns, and the landscape around them.
Once inside, visitors walk the grounds at their own pace, wandering through decorated display buildings and gift barns, with Santa and his helpers on hand for younger guests. Generations of local families have folded a trip here into their own December routines, and this season the displays also mark the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The village runs on weekend evenings from early November, then opens nightly from Thanksgiving through the close of the season on January 2. Dress for standing and strolling outdoors after dark, since most of the attraction is open air.
