About the event
The Duryea Hillclimb brings vintage and modern race cars to the winding road up Mount Penn, where drivers take on the same climb that helped put Reading on the map in the early days of American automaking. Cars run the course one at a time against the clock, so spectators get a clear look at each machine as it works through the curves.
The setting is part of the appeal. Skyline Drive offers wide views over Reading and the surrounding valley, and the paddock area gives visitors a chance to see the cars up close between runs and talk with the people who maintain and drive them. The variety on hand tends to range from early classics to later sports and competition cars.
Spectating is free, which makes this an easy outing for families, car enthusiasts, and anyone curious about a piece of local motoring history. Exact dates for the August 2027 running are still being confirmed, so check ahead before planning your visit.
