About the event

WhenLate May 2027 (to confirm)
WhereEtchberger Memorial Park, 2nd Street and Island Street

The Hamburg Jaycees host the Family Festival at Etchberger Memorial Park, where the grounds near 2nd and Island Streets fill with a carnival midway for a long spring weekend. Penn Valley Shows brings in the rides, and the lineup is put together with a wide range of ages in mind, from gentle spinners for the youngest riders to the taller attractions that draw the teenagers.

Games and prize booths run alongside the rides, and the food stands cover the familiar festival lineup of hot sandwiches, fries, ice cream, and sweets. Live entertainment is a fixture of the festival each evening, with bands and performers taking the stage after the sun goes down.

This is a neighborhood gathering as much as a carnival, drawing families from Hamburg and the surrounding Berks townships who treat it as the opening of the summer season. Walking in costs nothing, so it works just as well for an hour of strolling and people watching as it does for a full night on the midway.
