The Arc Alliance Guardianship Services can be appointed by the court as guardian for a person a judge has found incapacitated, to manage that person's health decisions, financial affairs, or both. There are two kinds of service. As Guardian of the Person, The Arc Alliance makes personal, medical and end of life decisions for someone who needs another person to make decisions that ensure their safety and well-being. As Guardian of the Estate, The Arc Alliance manages and protects the person's financial matters in a responsible, fiduciary manner. That work includes filing inventory and initial and annual reports with the court and safeguarding all assets. Medical Assistance applications are processed for individuals who live in long-term care facilities, who are eligible for community waiver programs, and who are eligible to receive services through the Department of Human Services.
