Autism Information and Referral Line From the ASERT Resource Center
The ASERT Resource Center is a statewide information line about autism in Pennsylvania. Its Resource Specialists help individuals with autism, families, professionals and community members learn more about autism services, resources and supports across the state.
It is meant for people who live in Pennsylvania or are moving to Pennsylvania and have questions about autism supports and services. If you are in another state, the resource specialists will be limited in the help they can give, though some online material in the resources section of the ASERT websites may still apply.
Reasons to contact the Resource Center include learning about autism supports and services available in Pennsylvania, finding resources on emergency preparedness and mental health, getting tips on choosing the right provider, getting recommendations on where to find grants and other types of funding, promoting an autism-related event in Pennsylvania that is free or low-cost to families or individuals with autism, and requesting an autism-related training.
You can reach the Resource Center three ways:
- Call 877-231-4244.
- Email info@paautism.org, or ASERTespanol@paautism.org in Spanish.
- Fill out the contact form at paautism.org/contact, which asks for your name, state, county, email address and a message of up to 500 characters, and lets you pick whether you would rather be answered by email or phone.
The Resource Center operates in both English and Spanish. ASERT makes every effort to answer requests in a timely fashion. If you do not receive an email reply after 3 business days, check your junk or spam folder, and if it is still not there, call 877-231-4244.
ASERT does not offer crisis services. If you or someone you love is experiencing mental health distress or thoughts of suicide, call or text 988 for support.
ASERT, the Autism Services, Education, Resources, and Training Collaborative, is a statewide initiative funded by the Office of Developmental Programs. The page does not list hours for the phone line or say whether there is any cost.
